The release of the Marc 2011 family of products is designed to respond to the requests that you provided us in the last 18 months regarding the challenges that you face. The highlights include:

- Major changes to the Mentat user interface to provide a new look and feel to the product, while at the same time maintaining compatibility and minimizing training efforts.
- The CAD importing has been greatly expanded to include the most commonly used CAD packages. New techniques to clean-up CAD models and create the finite element meshes required for simulation have been added in this release which is expected to improve productivity.
- Expansion of the segment-segment contact capabilities for analyses involving large relative displacements, together with a number of other general contact enhancements.
- Improvements in computational performance.
- Advanced fracture capabilities for shell elements and a new damage material model for all composite elements.
- Enhancements for the electronics industry including a new solder material model and new elements for magnetodynamic analysis.
